Fueling Safety

Beware of Static Electricity

We at Hoidale want you and yours to arrive back at home in the same condition, or better, than when you left. With that said, please share this reminder with your friends and loved ones.

DO NOT GET BACK INTO YOUR VEHICLE WHILE FUELING, especially during the dry winter months. Static electricity and gasoline fumes are extremely flammable and dangerous. The gentlemen in the blue truck simply slid out of his vehicle and grabbed the nozzle, causing an immediate ball of fire.

If you do get in your vehicle while fueling, always touch bare metal BEFORE touching the nozzle. Turn off your engine while fueling. In the event of a spark, leave the nozzle in the fuel tank.

For more fueling safety tips or safety talks, please reach out to Hoidale. Stay safe!

USDA announced this week $100 million in funding for infrastructure through the Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program (HBIIP). This program seeks to market higher blends of ethanol and biodiesel by sharing the costs to build and retrofit biofuel-related infrastructure such as pumps, dispensers and storage tanks required to compatibly distribute and store biofuels containing more than 10% ethanol (such as E15 or E85), or more than 5% biodiesel.
